THQ closes studies in Australia

THQ has just announced the decision to close the studio Blue Tongue, Melbourne, Brisbane and offices of a third studio in Phoenix, in a move that hit about two hundred employees. Brian Farrell, CEO of the company, said that the downsizing is largely due to the choice of reducing the games licensed for children and the tie-in based on film, preferring instead to focus on brand and on the best existing franchise. THQ has also confirmed that temporarily halts the development of future iterations of MX vs. ATV.
